--June 14, 2014 The Zephyr by Laurent Durieux goes on sale today. It will be listed in the prints category. Frames are available for your posters. A strict limit of one poster for each type per household will be enforced (you can get one regular and one variant for example).
--June 5, 2014 Laurent Durieux has done a masterful job with the first in our Modes of Transportation series. The first poster is the Zephyr, which was a stainless steel clad train designed to transport passengers with class. The Zephyr included a viewing car with lots of windows to see the American countryside. These will be made available online Saturday, June 14th. We will have some set aside for live shows so if you're in or around Minnesota and plan on making the Twin Cities Arts & Crafts Show, we'll have some great travel posters for you including the VERY limited key line version that will only be available at shows.
Be sure to sign up for our mailing list for updates by adding your email address to the link at the bottom of this page. You don't want to miss this and some other really nice things we have in the works.
--May 17, 2014 We're proud to announce our latest limited edition screen printed poster. Steve Thomas knocked this one out of the park. Our latest poster is a limited edition screen printed poster measuring 18x24 with 7 colors including a metallic layer. This poster is See America - New York and features the Chrysler building, which was completed in 1930. Also featured is a DC-3 flying by (also from the 1930's). Once these are gone, they're gone so get yours while you can! These are available as individual posters and framed in Dard Hunter Studios quarter sawn white oak frames with anti-glare glass.
--May 16, 2014 We decided not to travel to the Chicago Arts and Crafts show this year. We didn't do very well at last year's show with the smaller format and it's a lot of work to do these shows. Plus, it's a 1,000 mile drive each way from our shop in Texas. Dard Hunter will be at the show with our travel posters so be sure to stop in and say hi. We have released a few new posters since the last show and Dard will have all of these with him.
--May 9, 2014 Thanks for your support! All subscription slots for the "Modes of Transportation" series by Laurent Durieux are full. We appreciate everybody's interest. Sub numbers have been assigned and we will send updates to sub holders via a new sub mailing list.
--May 3, 2014 We're happy to offer subscriptions for the limited edition screen printed posters designed by Laurent Durieux in the "Modes of Transportation" series. This series consists of 6 screen printed posters with at least 7 colors. These measure 24x36. They will be produced every two or so months but may vary depending on Laurent's schedule and the printing schedule. Available are regular, variant, and wood editions. There are a limited number of subscriptions available so if you want one, get one because they won't last long.
--November 30, 2013 We have been very busy. Actually, very busy is an understatement. During all of this, our online store provider has made some major changes so we've been rewriting code to make everything look and work mostly like it did before.
We have two new posters that we just posted (you can see them featured below). These include Russ Billington's A New Dawn and Andrew Ghrist's Colorado. Both are available framed and unframed.
Russ worked up the early version of A New Dawn a few years ago. It is based on an English wallpaper design from around 1900. The original design was kind of flat as a black silhouette. Russ played with the colors and made some modifications that really work with the Arts & Crafts style. What we wound up with is a beautiful image that really pops in a frame. We were trying to have this completed as a 7 color screen print before Christmas but the printer is backed up so this won't happen until next year. We are offering a very limited giclee release for Christmas. We brought three of these with us to the Twin Cities Arts & Crafts Show in September to see what people thought and they disappeared FAST. This design is 24x18 inches and is available framed and unframed. The framed version features a Dard Hunter Studios quarter sawn oak frame with anti-glare glass.
Andrew Ghrist has produced the first in our limited edition screen printed poster series. This series will consist of limited edition posters produced by contemporary artists. Andrew's process is all manual and very labor intensive. He uses a process very few artists use these days. Andrew sketches his designs in pencil, redraws each color in India ink on transparencies for exposure, produces screens, and then hand-pulls every color with these screens to produce the posters. Most artists today do everything on the computer and use automated means. Andrew's Colorado poster has a vintage, rustic look that works with most styles. This design is 24x18 inches and is available framed and unframed. The framed version features a Dard Hunter Studios quarter sawn oak frame with anti-glare glass. There are two versions available. The regular version is an edition of 100 pieces and the variant is an edition of 50 pieces. All are numbered and signed by Andrew.
